1. Basic Swahili Greetings

Jambo – Hello

Pronunciation: Jam-bo

Habari? – How are you?

Habari yako? – How are you? (informal)

Habari za asubuhi? – Good morning

Habari za mchana? – Good afternoon

Habari za jioni? – Good evening

Mambo? – What’s up? (informal)

Sasa? – How are things? (informal)


2. Respectful Greetings

Shikamoo – Respectful greeting to elders

Marahaba – Response to “Shikamoo”
